Why coordinators price flat and planners price as a percentage
Full-service planning and day-of coordination aren't priced the same way, and knowing which model you're being quoted against explains most of the confusion in this search. UK planner Tichea Brade tells Hitched she sets aside a minimum of 12.5% of the total wedding budget for full-service work, and charges a £5,000 minimum herself.4 Against the UK's average wedding spend of £20,604, that rule of thumb works out to roughly £2,576 - a figure we've calculated, not published.5

What still moves the number inside that flat fee
Hours in scope. The 10 to 20 hours a UK coordinator counts against a booking cover more than the wedding day itself - the week-before vendor confirmations and the venue walk-through are included.4
What you hand over. A coordinator who has to build your run sheet from scratch is doing month-of work at a day-of rate. The flat fee assumes the document already exists.
Guest count and location. Both move the number inside a market, not between models - more suppliers to brief and more moving parts push a fee toward the top of its range rather than out of it.
